Goals:
The quadcopter design utilizes four, identical, and symmetrically installed rotor blades to achieve stable flight. We wish to take advantage of such stability to install an onboard camera to a remote controlled quadcopter capable of transmitting live video to an external monitor wirelessly.
Our end goals are:
- Choosing a suitable RC quadcopter based on size, lift generation, and cost.
- Choose a camera system (preferably light weight and low cost).
- Determine the method of transmitting the live video feed.
- If necessary, convert the transmission into a usable format.
This system can be potentially used by the fire department to observe how a fire has spread, as an alternative to helicopters for the media, as a deployable scout for the military, and much more.
