Linux setup


When partitioning the drive, we have the following configurations:
 
Full ext2 partitions

  • Package Selection
  • Make sure that these packages get loaded during installation. If you forget, they can be installed after the machine is up and running.
  • Accelerate booting
  • We removed many of the links in rc3.d that start software like sendmail, pcmcia, gpm, nfs, etc. Removing them will make Linux boot faster. make /usr read-only for safety.
