This CENG/ELEC/SENG 499 Design/Technical Project is to design and implement an Autopilot for a small aircraft. The project will be broken into 2 pieces:
- A Data Acquisition System
- A Software Monitoring System
The Data Acquisition System will be responsible for gathering information about the orientation, velocity and position of the aircraft. This information will be collected and transmitted over an Ethernet connection to the Monitoring System.
The Monitoring System will receive the data packets on a laptop and use them to generate a graphical user interface. The flight data will be displayed in position maps and aircraft orientation plots so that the end user can see what the aircraft is doing.
The project is supervised by Dr. Pan Agathoklis
and once completed will be used by the UVic AERO
