In 1959 CORDIC (COordinate Rotation DIgital Computer) was introduced by Jack E. Volder. The CORDIC algorithm is very powerful allowing to calculate trigonometric functions. The algorithm, however, does not use a multiplier for its impelementation. After 50 years of time the cost of multipliers are now affordable. With the use of multipliers the CORDIC algorithm can be greatly enhanced and the new algorith is called HCORDIC. Such algorithm could be designed to be interfaced as a math processor to existing computer as well as calculator systems to increase the speed.
