WSL1 Application of Wavelet Signal Processing (I): Compression of Speech, Music, and ECG Signals

The project involves implementing wavelet-based algorithms for high-gain coding of one-dimensional signals such as voice, music, and electro-cardiogram (ECG) signals. Through the project the student will learn:

  1. fundamentals of wavelet DSP methods;
  2. algorithms that are most relevant to the project problem; and
  3. algorithm implementation using Matlab.

WSL2 Application of Wavelet Signal Processing (II): Compression and Noise Removal for Still Images

The project involves implementing wavelet-based algorithms for high-gain coding of two-dimensional signals such as still images of various sizes, and for noise-removal from images. Through the project the student will learn:

  1. fundamentals of wavelet DSP methods;
  2. algorithms that are most relevant to the project problem; and
  3. algorithm implementation using Matlab.

WSL3 Application of Wavelet Signal Processing (III): Compression of Video Signals

The project involves implementing wavelet-based algorithms for high-gain coding of three-dimensional signals such as video. Through the project the student will learn:

  1. fundamentals of wavelet DSP methods;
  2. algorithms that are most relevant to the project problem; and
  3. algorithm implementation using Matlab.
