Real-Time Brain Activity Analysis

My colleagues and I have spent considerable time investigating the possibility of accurately detecting activities from specific areas of the brain in real (near real) time.  We constructed a system capable of separating the EEG mixture into independent parts and projecting these fields separately onto a human scalp model.  Our investigation demonstrated that we can provide this information in real-time provided that the brain activity ‘unmixing’ algorithm we use is fast and accurate enough.   Our attention has turned toward finding ways to accurately identify the activities of specific areas of the brain from EEG data.  Accurate and reliable real-time analysis remains a long-term objective.
