Feeding the Cycle of Develop-Apply-Improve: How Ourselves and Our Partners Stay Ahead

One of the main drivers of our business is in maintaining partnerships with organizations that are using our algorithms, methodologies, and services so that we have the ability to continue to improve.  Improvement encompasses the algorithms and technologies we use to investigate brain activity, the paradigms in which data are collected and a drug or videogame is developed or investigated, and how we interact and parter with organizations.  This ensures that our partner who's primary interest might be in developing a pharmaceutical for treating dimentia will always receive the best technological approach to help them in their endeavor, and that we will be able to maintain a competative edge on other companies that attempt to compete with our organization.

What does a partnership with us look like?

There are many types of organization and many different research problems, each one, having unique characteristics.  Hence, there is no way to know exactly what a partnership will entail.  We can however, speak from the experience of our prior 'research partnerships' and can provide a 'suggested' arrangement.

What has worked thus far are partnerships that involve at multiple times during the research project.  These include:

(1) study design stage - to ensure that the brain activities of interest will be generated and that results of interest can be calculated

(2) inital data collection stage - to ensure quality of the data collection (following the garbage-in, garbage-out philosophy)

(3) EEG brain activity analysis - we will apply the latest version of our automated analysis methodology and supervise various stages in the automated process to determine if 'enhancements' or improvements can be made.

(4) EEG 'enhanced' brain activity analysis - we will modify our brain activity analysis algorithm to include any enhancements that we identified in the previous step. The results in step (4) need not be used by the partner, however, these results generally provide insight into both the partner's research and our own analysis methodology.

We will provide our partner results obtained using both the most current brain activity algorithm obtained in step (3), and provide them results obtained using the 'enhanced' brain activity analysis algorithm in step (4).
