The High Frequency Synthetic Aperture Acoustic Imaging project is focussed on pushing the boundaries of the achievable spatial resolution with sonar imaging systems by combining  model based array processing techniques with synthetic aperture signal processing methods.

Ocean Tidal Power Generation

Dr. Paul Kraeutner
Co-investigator #1
Coinvestigator #2

web:        www.notyetavailable.com

The Ocean Tidal Power Generation project makes use of a novel new approach to harvesting power from ocean tides that is both environmentally attractive and technologically well suited to the harsh ocean environment.

Schlieren Ocean Imaging

Dr. Paul Kraeutner
Co-investigator #1
Coinvestigator #2

web:        www.notyetavailable.com

The Schlieren Ocean Imaging project explores the use of  Schlieren and shadowgraph optical imaging methods for acoustic imaging of fluid turbulence and density fluctuations.  The objective is to develop a new method for both large and small scale turbulent flow imaging in the ocean.  The method is ideally suited for acoustical oceanography applications around sub-sea observatory platforms.
