PCC and SCC SPC Product Codes

• Parallel and Serial Concatenated Codes (PCC) (SCC) are known to reduce the number of low weight codewords provided randomly chosen interleavers are used between the codes (even though the codes are not recursive).

• Note that these codes have a lower rate but typically higher minimum distances than the component SPC product codes.
