Design and Build a DC-DC Converter for Charging Electric Vehicle Batteries

The project selected was to design a charging system for electric vehicle battery packs with a magnetic coupling connector. The charging system was to be an LCL-type configuration DC-DC converter with a clamping type high frequency transformer.  Motivation for selecting this project stems from its obvious real-world applications and its commercial potential. With environmental consciousness becoming more and more prevalent in the world many of the companies producing new technologies are steering there designs towards “greener” solutions. All members of this group are very environmentally conscious and hope to apply our education and experience in the electrical engineering field to design a system that supports the “green energy” initiative.

We would like to thank Ashoka Bhat for his time in aiding us during the semester as well as taking the time to grade our progress and final reports.
