1. Research¶
1.1 Research Interests¶
My research interests are quite broad and cover many areas of engineering. The main theme that runs through all of these interests is a very strong emphasis on the implementation of newly proposed methods in software (often using the C++ programming language). Some of my research interests include:
-
computing and software engineering
- source-code analysis (especially C++)
- open-source software
- education and teaching of programming (especially with C++)
- efficient and robust implementation of algorithms (especially in C++)
-
image/signal processing, geometry processing, and computational geometry
- multiresolution signal and geometry processing (e.g., wavelets, filter banks, and subdivision surfaces)
- mesh-based image representations and content-adaptive image sampling
- data compression (especially image compression)
- multimedia systems and computer graphics
